Blanking Plate
Blanking plates are used as a secondary (backup) shut-off device downstream of diverters and louver dampers. They typically slide into position (guillotine) or are bolted in place. Sealing is achieved by a ledge type design or by means of a gasket.

Function:
- Provides additional protection for maintenance personnel working in the HRSG downstream of the primary shut-off device when the gas turbine is in open cycle operation
Advantages:
- Low pressure drop in open position
- Simple and sturdy design
- Further reduced heat radiation due to insulated blade
